GIANNI bruschi
Gianni Bruschi is a founding member and artistic director of Spazio Seme, an international artistic center located in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy.
​
He specializes in teaching theatre, voice, and expressive movement. Bruschi has a degree in Italian Literature and History of Theatre from the University of Siena and is recognized as an “Expert of Education” by the Tuscany Region and the European Community.
He is a graduate of the Institute of Psychosynthesis of Roberto Assagioli in Florence, where he earned his Professional Counselor SIPT certification.
As a singer and actor, Bruschi studied Belcanto and Opera with Slavka Taskova Paoletti and spiritual and gospel singing with Reverend Nehemiah Hunter Brown.
He has attended training courses with renowned Italian and foreign artists such as Giulia Lazzarini (Piccolo Teatro Milano), Ariane Mnouchkine (ARTA, Paris), and Kaya Anderson (Centre Artistique International Roy Hart). He has also worked with Loriano della Rocca (performer Cricot 2 of Tadeusz Kantor) and Sergio Pisapia Fiore (CNT – Centro Nazionale Teatrale).
Bruschi has held concerts at festivals throughout Italy and various international countries, including France, Egypt, Morocco, Albania, Greece, Tunisia, Ireland, and India. In these locations, he has directed artistic workshops and intercultural courses.
As a Spazio Seme manager, Bruschi is a member of OIDA Orchestra Instabile of Arezzo, for whom he serves as the CAT (Comitato Artistico Territoriale) coordinator.
From 2006 to 2022, he was an instructor of Italian culture and Mediterranean expressive arts at the Accademia dell’Arte, Arezzo.
Teaching and Artistic Direction
Bruschi has also served as a trainer and artistic director for various programs and events. In 2022, he was as a vocal coach alongside Eva Mei, Matthew Schloneger, Jen Stephenson, Bradley Baker, and Claire Singher for Opera Seme International Voice Program, a collaboration between Friends University (KS), Chapman University (CA), and Spazio Seme.

In 2020, he was a vocal resident coach within the Per Chi Crea project, promoted by MIBACT (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism) and managed by the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (SIAE).

From 2014 to 2018, he curated the direction of the Arezzo Winter Jazz review at Spazio Seme, in collaboration with Arezzo Jazz Club.
In 2010, he was Director of the Dance Program for the Spring semester at the Accademia dell’Arte, and went to the USA in a recruiting tour, where he led some stagecraft workshops at the University of Boston (Boston, US), Muhlenberg College (Philadelphia, US), and Goucher College (Baltimore, US).
From 2007 to 2010, he was one of the organizers of the Arezzofestival with Accademia dell’Arte and Scuola di Narrazioni Arturo Bandini di Nausika.
From 2002 to 2005, he organized international exchanges and taught at the School of Tarantella and popular dances of the Mediterranean founded by Eugenio Bennato in Bologna.

In 2004, he took care of the artistic direction of the opening musical show with 50 artists of an Euromed project entitled Daqqua et Tarantelle au service de l’echange interculturel at the Morocco Festival de Taroudannt, thanks to the support of Mission des Affaires Internationales, European Community.
From 2003 to 2007, he was in charge of the artistic direction of the TarantElJem show ateliers at Eljem’s Grand Amphitheatre Romain in Tunisia. These ateliers were featured in the Decouvertes Tunisie XXI – Crèation Tunisienne and Musique du Monde Festival in 2005, which were supported by the Anne Linth Foundation for the dialogue between cultures and the Italian Culture Institute in Tunis.

In 2019, he organized for Oida Orchestra and Spazio Seme the premiere of the first opera made in Arabic, “Opéra Shéhérazade – L’autre nuit,” at the Festival International de la Francophonie de Sousse in Tunisia. The performance featured the Orchestre Symphonique „Les deux rives“, conducted by M° Samir Ferjani, the Lebanese contralto Jehida Wehba, Tunisian Haytham Hadhiri, the choir of the Opéra de Nice, and the choir of the ISM of Sousse. The opera was performed at the Opéra de Sousse and the Opéra de Tunis – Cité de la Culture.
Singing
In 2022, he sang with the OIDA Orchestra Instabile di Arezzo directed by Lorenzo Rossi in the 35th El Jem International Symphonic Music Festival held in the Great Roman Amphitheater in Tunisia.

As part of the Anfiteatro sotto le Stelle program in 2021, he was involved in the musical production “Concerto Italiano,” which was inspired by Italian and Mediterranean culture and presented in the Roman Amphitheater of Arezzo. This was a collaboration between the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation, the Roman Amphitheater, the Caio Cilnio Maecenas Museum, the Direzione Regionale Musei della Toscana, and Spazio Seme.
In 2018, he was asked to create a lineup of Italian jazz musicians for a concert dedicated to the female voices of the 1900s as part of the 32nd El Jem International Symphonic Music Festival held in Tunisia.

In Arezzo in 2018, he directed the concert show “Adesso Tango!” at the Teatro Petrarca, where he sang with soprano Letizia Dei, accompanying the dance of Leilani Weis (Argentina), Miguel Gomes (Spain), Leonardo Lambruschini, Francesco Botti of Spazio Seme, and dancers of Oblivion Tango. This was the final evening of the season of Oida Orchestra Instabile of Arezzo, conducted by Massimo Merone, with bandoneon played by Fabrizio Mocata.
In 2017, he participated in the Eljem Symphonic Music Festival as a soloist with the Orchestre Symphonique Tunisien conducted by M° Hafedh Makni, with the participation of the guitarist Christoph Denoth (Switzerland), held in the Great Roman Amphitheater.

In 2016, during the 64th edition of the International Polyphonic Competition in Arezzo, he organized the Polyphonic Off review for Spazio Seme, in collaboration with the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation and the Municipality of Arezzo on the final day of the competition.

In 2015, he was a singer and actor in the intercultural art project “Iphigenia meets Electra” in India, a collaboration between Spazio Seme, Arshi, and Nobel Associate, directed by Abanti Chakraborty, with the support of the Indian government.

In 2014, he was the director, singer, and actor in the concert show “Ritual Tarantella” staged for five evenings at the opening of the 2014/2015 season at the Neos Kosmos Theater in Athens, Greece.
​
In the same year, he was a singer in the musical recital “Frida Kahlo, art conference in the show” held by Daniela Meli in Rome, which was the opening event of the International Exhibition of Frida Kahlo at the Quirinale Stables. This event was organized by the Vice-Presidency of the Senate.
In 2007, he participated as a singer at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Tirana during the European Week of Culture in Albania, with Giovanni Mauriello and the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, with the patronage of the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tirana.
